Has anyone managed to get the Hauppauge WinTV PCI (TV and FM) to capture
video? I installed it only with the latest drivers from the web site, in
addition to the latest ir, radio, tv2000, tv32, and Vid Cap (3.02) apps from
the website but the Vid Cap app is not functional (no device detected). I
have 2 capture devices listed in multimedia hardware: microsoft wdm capture
device and the hauppauge video capture device. The MS driver doesn't do
squat and trying to manually select the hauppauge one just hangs the app
(though windows remains responsive).
Thanks for any tips you might have

I got my bt848 based card to work with the Hauppage WinTV win2k drivers. However, I couldn't find any TV app that would work in win2k. So, I wrote one myself
If you're interested, check out http://mattlee.mit.edu/dropbox/mytv/ to get my TV application. It might work for your card as well. It doesn't support channel changing right now, but it does support viewing the composite video channel.

Thanks Matt - however I have TV working just great with the WinTV2000/32 software. I have my remote and the radio app working as well. However, the only thing that is not working is the video capture:-( If you, or anyone else who has a wintv, has this working please let me know how you did it. Thanks again.

Hi Gang,
I too have problems with video capture and scheduled recording. I can get it to somewhat work, but only if I choose no compression. I certainly can't get their DIVX recording to work either . I know it's supposed to require a 1.7GHZ CPu, but I have a 1.6 and it should be letting me record at reduced compression levels . I think I will go with an ATI card in the future. Can anyone comment on their recent success and or failures with one of these cards?
Also this card sucks with TitanTV.com, much to my dissapointment.
Thanks,
Christian Blackburn
