Win2k Boot Up Screen Problem
This is a discussion about Win2k Boot Up Screen Problem in the Windows Software category; On boot up, the screen shows 2 references to Windows 2000, plus my other OS - Win98. I have Win2k on C, and Win98 on D. I would like to delete one ref to Win2k. I have looked for a boot. ini file, no luck.

Hi,
There is a BOOT.INI file, but its hidden so you have to get around this first:
Boot to a DOS prompt, change to C:\ and type:
ATTRIB -h BOOT.INI
...then hit Enter.
Then EDIT the file and delete one of the lines referring to Win2K...save it hide the file again (same command as above except its '+h' this time), reboot the system and you're done.
Hope this helps,
Kaiser

Or, you could just open boot.ini in NOTEPAD and remove one of the Win2K references.
Open Notepad, and go to C:\, tell it to "Open" and type boot.ini, b/c it won't be shown in there.
