how do i upgrade the drivers on my "default monitor" to those of my real viewsonice a90 monitor when the display properties have the properties button under monitor tab greyed out? also, the default monitor does not show up in the device manager and i can't "add new hardware" becuase it doesn't have the option to select monitors as a group. any help would be much appreciated.

You can update the driver from Display Properties. Click the Advance Button under Settings. Then select the Monitor Tab. Then click Properties.

I'm surprised that it isn't displaying your monitor as Plug & Play monitor in Device Manager.

Do you use a RGBI BNC cable or a regular svga cable?
I had this problem with my Liyama 901 Pro 19".
It seems that plug'n play does not sees some monitors type through a BNC connection.
Had to install with regular svga cable then change it for the much better coaxial connection.
Or maybe your svga cable is missing pins or some pin is not internally connected within the plug (or may have a bad connection). You may try with another cable.
Hope this helps.
