Win2k shutdown/restart problem
This is a discussion about Win2k shutdown/restart problem in the Windows Software category; it just started yesterday and im not sure why. when i go to shutdown or restart, a box pops up saying. . . ending program, explorer. exe is not responding and then i have click end now for it to shutdown/restart.
it just started yesterday and im not sure why. when i go to shutdown or restart, a box pops up saying...ending program, explorer.exe is not responding and then i have click end now for it to shutdown/restart. Anyone know why this is happening or have a fix? Thanks

This kind of behavior usually comes about because a driver, generally an audio driver won't unload. Have you installed any software or game recently? Some are notorious for putting a .dll in that affects a windows library file.
yes i have recently installed a pop up blocker. did notice the prob after i installed it, but i have uninstalled the blocker but it still happens
Try sfc /scannow from a runbox.
tried that, it did its scan, but didnt fix the problem
