Win2K Wont Detect My Second Printer Port

I have a Gigabyte 6BXC Rev 2 motherboard. When I use Windows 98/Me it detects both printer ports LPT1 and LPT2. But in Windows 2000 it will only detect the first printer port. What can I do to make Win2k to detect it.

I had the same problem (but also under 98 and NT, because all the second printer ports are non-pnp ISA devices).
Simply set all the settings manually (maybe you will have to fiddle around with BIOS settings of the other on-board ports), and manually install a second LPT port at the 'Add new hardware' panel. (Or EPP / ECC Port, depends on what you set your card to).

Then you will have to enter the settings for it manually under hardware configuration panel, and voila, it will work.
Maybe you will have to try some different settings for IRQ, DMA or address, but if the port worked under 9x, it will do that under 2K , too.

Have fun
