Hi, i'm on an @Home network, and i recently bought a SMC Baracade Router SMC7004ABR.
Both computers are connected to the internet, and can ping each other, but they can't see each other over Network Neighborhood and My Network Places.
Both have file sharing installed, and have SOMETHING shared. Both workgroups are the same name. I can't think of anything rite now...
if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Kiz

try setting ur computers to obtain their own ip address (if ur using tcp/ip) and also try installing the ipx protocol.

set ur computers with these addresses: 192.168.0.x

where x is 1 then 2 then 3 and so on for each individual computer. also set ur subnet address to 255.255.255.0

now try to ping each other. once u can ping one another goto my network places and find ur other computers.

the above is the same configuration as my home network.

but back on the win2k PC, i cna't see the 98 PC, but in Computer Management, it tells me my win98 PC is connected.
