I recently set up a windows 2000 server (all I am using it for is sharing
a dos accounting software package) but am having problems. It is setup
only as a fileserver so no active domain etc. Everybody can log on, however when any one opens order entry ( it opens 40 files at once) it
takes forever for anyone else to open inventory or order entry too.
(the screen takes forever to complete). This is an older dos program but
it has been running fine on my windows 98 peer to peer network for
2 years. The 2000 server is setup on this network with 7 win 98 computers
and 1 2000 prof computer. This is driving me nuts !
thanks
