I've noticed that pretty much every USB 2 pci card and device I've installed onto machines in the past couple of years comes with a device drives disc/cd. To my surprise they almost always include Windows 2000 drivers for some reason. Have you tried these yet ?!?

My only other suggestion is to try it out on another Windows 2000 machine or even an XP box just to make sure the device actually is working

Yeah what jmmijo said.

Stop messing around with puny flash drives. Get a real man's external drive like an external IDE or SATA drive.
Your pockets not big enough? Get bigger pockets.
