we have tried to setup a windows 2000 small buisness server with an UDMA 100 RAID Promise Raid controller (fasttrak) in Raid 1 (mirror)

it worked just fine after installation..
but after the exchange server was setup the whole win2000 destroyed itself and was not bootable anymore.
when we installed the system without raid it run quit normal.

it seems that the virtuell volume ( o:\ ) the exchange server creates doesn't work on raid systems.

defect hardware is very unlikely because we had 3 PC's with equal hardware (PIII 1000mhz, promise IDE raid controller, 512MB RAM, 2x IBM 40GB HDD)

any solutions or experience with that?

i'm not entirely sure on this, but i suspect thats not true hardware raid, i suspect thats merely IDE RAID that causes grief, as i know for a fact that SBS loves the 5 harddisk raid 5 configuration i've set up at a customer's site (with exchange on)
can i suggest you look for some better promise drivers
