Windows Server 2003 R2 problem
This is a discussion about Windows Server 2003 R2 problem in the Everything New Technology category; Hello all. . . ive got some probs with my new OS. I plugged in my usb external HDD (WD 300GB) and windows recognized it and installed it normally as all other OP (its plugnplay hdd no need for drivers) but the HDD icon does not appear in my computer or elsewhere so i can select and use my drive.
Hello all...ive got some probs with my new OS. I plugged in my usb external HDD (WD 300GB) and windows recognized it and installed it normally as all other OP (its plugnplay hdd no need for drivers) but the HDD icon does not appear in my computer or elsewhere so i can select and use my drive...the hdd is active and in taskbar i see clearly that is working and i can remove it like any flash drive but cant see it anywhere in mycomputer...not too familiar with server 2003 any ideas?

When the hdd is plugged in,
click Start, then Run and type diskmgmt.msc.
Disk Management should open.
See if it appears there and if it does, you'll need to assign drive letter to it.
Right click the drive/partition, then select "Change Drive Letter and Paths" and assign it to free drive letter.
