Hello everyone,
I have just set up a network with one machine running XP and the other ME. However I can share resource on the ME machine but when I try accessing a shared drive located on XP machine I get a “please enter password” box appear. None of my passwords work with this box and after reading round the web it emerge that XP setup its own share’s D$ C$ etc. and I am unable to turn this off. Therefore I am unable to access this computer (remotely) without this password.
Is there away around this?
Thanks for your help,
Harold Clements

the reason it is asking for a password when you try to access a resource on the xp box is because the account you are using on the ME machine does not exist on the xp machine. add the account you are using in ME to the XP machine or use an account which already exists.
