Windows XP and Yamaha CRW2200, won't detect
This is a discussion about Windows XP and Yamaha CRW2200, won't detect in the Windows Games category; I loaded WindowsXP on my machine and it will not detect my Yamaha CRW. If I only attached my CD-ROM XP will see it and it will work. As soon as I add on my Yamaha CRW, XP does't see any CD drives. I have tried using ONLY the Yamaha, but that doesn't work either.

P.S. I think its odd that my BIOS sees my CD drives as primary and secondary hard drives. My CD-ROM will still work with the BIOS like this, but the Yamaha seems to mess everything up.
Thank in advance,
Sal

That's interesting...I have a similar problem with my Yamaha CRW3200. I just got some new hardware (athlon 64, Asus K8N-E motherboard, SATA hard drive) and I finally got it to install but now it can't see my CD drive (although it was fine using it to install). I think it's confused because I have two IDE controllers, one for SATA and one for PATA (plain old parallel IDE). I think it's easy for Windows to get confused with multiple IDE controllers. What's the motherboard? Does it have more than two IDE connectors?
