is there a windows xp compatibility or driver list i was thinking about buying a modem and i can't find out weather it will work on windows XP, i have been to the site to check out what the company say (Askey) but there is no info on drivers without a Serial number which i don't have yet the product is Askey Extern ...

External/Internal (Serial or old ISA and some PCI) Hardware Modem is the best way to go.
WinModem like some PCI/all USB or if it say controless on box they are junk.
The way to tell is to download the drivers if it only has INF file then it a hardware base modem.
Another way to tell see weather or not it support all Favor of OS like Dos, Windows, Linux, OS/2, BeOS, Macintosh, Unix ect ect.
