WinNT/2K Server - Mouse freezes when unplugged/replugged

This is a discussion about WinNT/2K Server - Mouse freezes when unplugged/replugged in the Windows Hardware category; I am a LAN Administrator and we have two NT 4. 0 Server boxes (SP6a) and three Windows 2000 Server boxes. I have installed a Blackbox Servswitch to support these five servers, and a power failure to this box caused all the mice to freeze.

Other than rebooting, can the mouse service be stopped and started?

A reboot of any of these production servers requires prior change control and lead times, whereas a dynamic fix would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks
