WinXP authorization?
This is a discussion about WinXP authorization? in the Windows Hardware category; I am wondering about this authorization thing. I know that if you change the hardware physically like change the video card etc. My question is this what if you flash the bios on the motherboard will winXP require you to authorize again?.

Certainly not!
It may very well require re-activation, if something as simple as a video card will do it.
I've heard of someone replacing a video card, a sound card, and a CD-RW all at once, and still not be asked to re-activate.
From what I understand, a motherboard or harddrive needs to be replaced to call for re-activation. This could make a BIOS change a gray area, since it would be the same board, but it's identifier would be slightly different [to indicate the newer BIOS].
