First off: WOO HOO FIRST POST in the new WinXP/.NET Apps forum!

Now, to business...

I was wondering if anyone know yet the upgrade path MS will allow for WinXP. I know Win95 is out, but who cares about that POS. What I'm wondering about, specifially, is if I'll be able to upgrade WinME to WinXP Pro, or if I'll be limited to WinXP Home.

This is b/c I have a copy of WinME here, not in use [never been installed, actually], and I'd like to use that to upgrade to WinXP Pro. As I understand it, if I was to upgrade my copy of Win2K, I'm not supposed to use it anymore, correct? Well, I want to use my copy of Win2K, and pick up a copy of WinXP as cheap as possible, to play with, and I'd prefer it to be Pro, since I play on getting a dualie setup soon, and want SMP support.

Even if I'm still allowed to use my copy of Win2K post-upgrade, I'd still like to know if I'll be able to upgrade from WinME to WinXP Pro.

Thanks, that is all,

This is directly from the RC1 readme for XP Pro:

You can upgrade to Windows XP Professional from the
following operating systems:

* Windows 98 (all versions)
* Windows Millennium Edition
* Windows NT 4.0 Workstation (Service Pack 6 and later)
* Windows 2000 Professional (including service packs)
* Windows XP Home Edition
