Every AMD system seems to run hot for me, the main reason I don't seem them as much in any servers I've ordered/built. Now with SMP they better cope with the heat. Now performance should be good cpu/chipset/memory bus. Just as long as there are no conflicts with hardware amd will have a good low end server.

OP
Yeah, hopefully AMD will continue to work on the heat issue with their chips, especially for 1U rackmount servers.

Yeah I'd love to get/make one as well. The issue is heat! When AMD resolves the heat issue I will consider getting one. Right now it's Intel for servers cause the processors dont produce as much heat as the dual Athlon servers. Especially if you dont want fans or cant have fans for the Rackmount servers, then AMD is screwed. Wait until there is more options with AMD before making a dual Athlon server. I am...

Only if the price is right. But I think I'll wait at least a few months for the technology to mature a bit.
