"write access" for all users for specific files, H
This is a discussion about "write access" for all users for specific files, H in the Windows Software category; I've been messing around in Local Security Policy for hours now and can't figure out how to give write access to all users for specific files. I'm trying to get MotherBoard Monitor to work under all users.

I'm trying to get MotherBoard Monitor to work under all users.
When loging on as any user, other than admin, an error pops up saying it can't write to the MBM.ini file.
If anyone can help that would be great, plus it'll keep me fom going bald.
Oh yeah, I'm running XP Pro w/NTFS.
Thanks,

OP
OK I figured it out. And it's very easy. Didn't even have to bother with all that other stuff I was messing around with.
Go to Control Panel-->Folder Options--> Click on "View" tab.
Scroll down to "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)" and UNcheck it.
Now go to the folder that MBM is installed and right click on it, select "Properties"
Click on "Security" tab.
Highlight the Group(s) you want to have access to MBM files.
In the lower window put a check in the "write" box under the "allow" column.
That's it!
