XP Beta2 & Norton AV Corporate 7.0
This is a discussion about XP Beta2 & Norton AV Corporate 7.0 in the Windows Hardware category; I'm having a little problem installing this under WinXP. I know Symantec admitted an incompatibility with the symevent file. The official instructions on the Symantec page only really mention AV 2000 & 2001, however I assumed the fix would be the same.

Install the program as normal but uncheck the 'Enable real-time file protection' during installation.
Once installation has finished don't re-boot and apply the updated symevent file from their FTP site.
Re-enable real-time scan and re-boot.
All seemed to go well, but on booting back into XP get a message along the lines of 'WinXP critical error' and it reports the symevent file as the problem.
I've just un-installed AV Corporate 7.0 from the machines, no biggy.
Just I've got an XP Pro & XP Server sat on the network with no virus protection at the moment.
Anybody been sucessful with the installation?

I wasn't able to get 7.0 corporate to work. I had to switch over to 7.5x.
