A buddy is having problems with XP on his desktop. It has been having random crashes, won't install warcraft 3 (other games have worked fine), windows XP has install issues i.e.:
"the file zipfldf32.dll would not copy over at all"
He's running a abit kr7a-133r bios CX (latest)
XP 2000 chip, 512ram( 2 256mb crucial) , audigy, Ti4400 abit vid card.
It seems it started mostly after a bios flash and the install of the xp 2000 (it was previously an 1800). Several reformats have done nothing to improve things. He's used 3 different XP install disks with the same issue. I'm at a loss as to what could be the problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.
TIA

Pull all cards out minus the video card.
Disable all onboard devices.
Pull one stick of ram out.
Try to install
If the one stick doesn't work then try the other and repeat.
See what happens and we will go from there

Thanks, I'll relay that. I thought to have him run memtest86 last night and he says he's getting errors with that and he is getting errors while running standard things in linux. He's gonna check each stick seperately next, then try installs.
