XP HOME + pre-sp1 fixes and NFS5

This is a discussion about XP HOME + pre-sp1 fixes and NFS5 in the Windows Games category; i can't get it to load. says it requires windows 95/98 then i put it in win95/98 mode. then the game loads but i can't get 3D to work! plz help me.

Remove the file "gimme.dll" from the game directory... rerun the game and see if it workes... or just rename .dll to .old

No no no, deleting gimme.dll will break other things (like multiplayer). All you have to do is use qfixapp to set "Emulate Heap" on the porsche.exe file.
 
NTGAMEMAN - if this does not fix your problem, then please post your specs (esp. video card and drivers) and we'll see what we can do...

I did play it in multiplayer with the gimme.dll removed...
Hmmm not online but in a private lan... with one friend...
 
Couldnt make it work any other way... but I guess your solution is the better one...
