XP Pop-ups on taskbar, turning them off
How do I turn off the stupid, annoying pop-up messages on the XP taskbar, such as the take a tour, or low disk space, etc. . . They are exceptionally annoying. Thanks.

I adopt an "ignore it and it'll go away" attitude myself, they usually do.
Well that is not very helpful, everyone can ignore it. I'm sure there is a way to eliminate them. Perhaps I will take some time to look.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I'm not sure this is exactly what you want to get rid of but this is a registry hack (Microsoft approved) to rid you of some messages:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
Right-click the right pane, create a new DWORD value, and then name it EnableBalloonTips
Double-click this new entry, and then give it a hexadecimal value of 0
Quit Registry Editor. Log off Windows, and then log back on.

Open My Computer
Tools / Folder Options
Click the View Tab
Remove check next to "Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items" I don't think those are the ones he means, that's tooltips, etc - he's on about the things like the bubble you get that tells you your HDD/partition is full, or telling you to take the windows tour.
