Here's the problem I can run driver flawlessly for hours then when I'm into Castle Wolfenstein as soon as the sound gets intense it will lock up solid then i get the device failure when I reboot. I have the current chipset from Intel the current video drivers and the current sound drivers from Compaq. I have tried the Refresh rate tweak any suggestions?

Is this in single player or multiplayer? Punkbuster enabled multiplayer servers are most problematic, you can try /pb_system 1 should let punkbuster change system compatibility modes.

Have you tried playing with the sound disabled? I know it's not ideal, but it might help with troubleshooting to see if the sound drivers are causing the problem.
