xp pro crashing
This is a discussion about xp pro crashing in the Everything New Technology category; whenever i shut down, the blue screen appears. i managed to write down some of the error codes but not all. is there a way to look at all the error codes while the system is running and deal with them one by one?.

So you're not actually crashing, when you shut down, through the start menu, you get a BSOD before the system shuts off, correct?
OP
Thats right, BSOD on close down, but the thing doesn't close down. It stays on. All fans are working no dust problems. Have just moved the ethernet card as it was right next to the sound card.

Press the Windows Logo+BREAK keys to bring up system properties.
Click on the Advanced tab then under Startup and Recovery click on setting.
In the system failure section uncheck the box that says Automatically restart then click OK, OK.
You should now be able to write down all the codes as the system will stay on the blue screen instead of restarting.
