Everything was going great, until I rebooted my machine this morning, when I restarted it, it gets right past the Gateway Logo, then is going to run through the little timer bars on e the bottom of the screen before it loads up the XP Logo, get to the second bar and stops.

Everything was going great, until I rebooted my machine this morning, when I restarted it, it gets right past the Gateway Logo, then is going to run through the little timer bars on e the bottom of the screen before it loads up the XP Logo, get to the second bar and stops. Nothing more. I am running a chkdsk /r from XP recovery console, may bot be done before I go to bed, is there anything else I should do? A FIXBOOT maybe? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How about rebooting holding down the "F8" key, then booting in "The last known configuration that worked"?

Of try booting into safe mode, get to windows, then just reboot, and see what happens.

Boot in safe mode, then restore to a point when your system was working.

Let us know what happens.
