XP sees Benq 48x16x48 as CD/DVD

Hello, I just installed Benq 48x16x48 (former Acer) and XP does not recognise it as CD-RW. It thinks it is CD/DVD and CDRWin does not see any recordable devices also. I installed latest Adaptec ASPI drivers 4.

Hello,
I just installed Benq 48x16x48 (former Acer) and XP does not recognise it as CD-RW. It thinks it is CD/DVD and CDRWin does not see any recordable devices also.
I installed latest Adaptec ASPI drivers 4.71 and fix to it by Yakumo, but It didn't help.

Somewhere on internet I found, that native drivers for XP could help, but I couldn't find a place to download it.

What else can I do?

I have a Benq 32/10/40 and Winxp recognise it as a ATAPI CD-R/RW 32x10. I searched Benq internet site and found a firmware upgrade for mine. Maybe there is one for yours. I had also problems with Nero 5590 but with Easy cd Creator 5.1 I could burn cd:s.

OP
Thanks,
I already tried to reload firmware, it didn't help.
I'm looking for native XP ASPI drivers. I found a site with it, but cannot download - link is dead.

I too have just bought a Benq 32/10/40 CDRW and I think it's the best ever.. To get it to run Under XP use the CD of Nero that came with the Burner when you bought it, then Updrade to 5590 after... Burns beautifully right up to the full 32x Yay 700 MB in 4 mins
