XP SP2 'tip'
I know what you are thinking. . . . yes another SP2 thread (just what we need!!). However this tickled me slightly and thought it may prove useful to someone. I like to have Automatic Updates on, however it keeps bugging me about SP2.

I like to have Automatic Updates on, however it keeps bugging me about SP2. Here's a little release from MS to stop that nagging:

Interesting to note that "the mechanism to temporarily disable delivery of Windows XP SP2 will be available for a period of 120 days (4 months) from August 16"
Merry Christmas :x

I used this, until I can get an SUS server functional. For reasons beyond my control I cannot (yet) deploy SP2 to all the XP workstations.
I believe that the 120 day delay was recently extended until sometime in April 2005, but can't recall where I read that. If I can find it again, I'll post the source so it can be verified.
