XP stops responding when saving a picture
This is a discussion about XP stops responding when saving a picture in the Windows Software category; Help! When I try to save a picture in a browser (IE6 or ybrowser or Firefox or Mozilla 7. 2) the save dialog box 'greys-out' and the application enters a 'not repsonding' state. I have to end the task in Windows Task manager.
Help!
When I try to save a picture in a browser
(IE6 or ybrowser or Firefox or Mozilla 7.2) the save dialog box 'greys-out' and the application enters a 'not repsonding' state. I have to end the task in Windows Task manager.
This has also happened when saving an image in Photoshop and Fireworks.
I have XP/PRO SP2
yes ... I have
1. cleared the cache
2. cleaned out any spyware
3. reloaded the browser
4. checked the registry (Error Nuker installed)
5. consulted a whole bunch of XP web site forums (or is that fora?)
...I am now open to more suggestions, gentlefolk

It sounds like a memory problem to me... SP2? yikes!
I had SP2 for 3 weeks and I was crawling the whole time, I uninstalled it and now I'm back to my fast box!
Yes, Firefox is my default browser now
No, I'm not slamming Bill and boys
Yes, my 2 cents...
G/L.

I have 256Mb at the moment ... do you think another 256Mb would help?
