I Have a server running XP pro with Norton internet Security as my firewall and i've hit a brick wall setting up A vpn server

My server uses both an incoming dialup and tunneling via broadband using XP's own VPN Server

the incoming dialup works perfectly, But the tunneling will only work when norton is disabled, all the relevant ports are open but still no luck, i believe the relevant ports are 1723, 50 + 51, is this right??? but even with them wide open still no connection,

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated

What version of Norton Internet Security do you have?

Anyway, here is 2003 - 2004 version:

Virtual private network (VPN) program compatibility with Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall

Situation:
You want to know which virtual private network (VPN) programs are compatible with Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall.

Solution:
The following VPNs have been tested with Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall 2004:

* Symantec Enterprise VPN
* Nortel
* VPNRemote
* PGP
* SecureRemote

Other VPNs may work with Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall; however, they are not supported by Symantec Technical Support.

Technical Information:
VPN problems
If you encounter problems with your VPN program and Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall, one possible solution is to update the drivers for your network card. In many reported cases, installing the latest drivers for your network card fixes problems.

With most VPNs, when the VPN client is active, you cannot see the Internet or other computers on your local network. You can see only what is available through the VPN server to which you are connected.
