Anybody have this problem with the new drivers? I installed it but then my mouse won't work afterwards. Says something about the device name or profile name is in use.

Also the mouse wheel doesn't work in UT, Quake 3 Arena or Homeworld, to name but a few...

Hello

- Just installed MouseWare 9 (Uninstalled 8.62 before...)

- rebooted

- no mouse cursor, no mouse at all

- keyboard not working

- same thing in safe mode

- Win2000-BootCD did not repare this and it seems it didnt even check the systemfiles...

I tried to replace some files by using those from the Win2000 CD (but did not found many) after that I just deleted all LogiTech files I could find...
Still no mouse cursor!

Then I plugged a MS mouse (PS/2) -> even THEN no mouse cursor (mouse hasnt been recognized right) So I think some major mouse file has been replaced by the lame MouseWare file - and I don't know which one...

OK, thanks to LogiTech for f*ucking up my system I hope the NTC dudes here can heeeeeelp meeee ) Don't want to reinstall

P.S.:No, my eyes are really OK

I'm using Windows 2000 German Final
Logitech Marble FX PS/2
ASUS P2B, 256 MB RAM etc.
PS/2 KeyBoard

bye

Hmm, I installed the new drivers, rebooted, and everything worked just fine. I did not hae any other Logitech drivers on my system.
I am not sure why you guys are having so many problems with them.

config: win2k final CLEAN INSTALL,mcafee NT 4.03a,gozilla,winamp agent
p2-350,sb pci64,128 RAM,built-in nvidia drivers, m/b Abit BH-6 1.0/bios FU,Logitech wheelmouse, recognised in system as "other Logitech mouse PS/2"

** did you have a clean install or an upgrade from win9x?? ** if upgrade then maybe conflict of drivers

Just a thought but Logitech lists on their page that this is the english version only. I noticed someone had the german final release, this may be the problem, a conflict of languages.

Hi again
I always had english MouseWare installed, I guess there haven't been a german version...
So I don't think thats the problem...

My Win2000 Installation was not an upgrade from Win9x - it was a fine and clear one

Yes I had MouseWare 8.62 installed - and before MouesWare 9 Logitech said its OK if you install it, but there may be some problems under Win2000 (the installer said this!)...
And now... The lamers say: "Do not install any version of MouseWare 8.x (or earlier) into Windows 2000. It may crash your Windows 2000, forcing you to reinstall Windows 2000." http://www.logitech.com/cf/support/28.cfm

Haha, thanks logitech for telling me this now, but why didn't you said "DON'T INSTALL MOUSEWARE 8.62 ON WIN2000" some weeks ago - it was not there anyway, no features no nothing, just logitechs own drivers which were as good as the original Win2000 drivers (I want them back!)

OK thats it for the moment - I'm so pissed

I'm also having troubles installing the new drivers. I've had 8.62 installed but I couldn't get the Mouse Control Center to come up. So when I uninstalled it and installed 9.0, rebooted, and started up, I got a "new hardware detected" message and then it said that it didn't finish installing the drivers. I saw a little mouse icon popup in the system tray for a split second and then it disappeared. Doesn't look like it wants to run em_exec.exe. So I just manually installed just the drivers as specified in the readme.txt and that's all I can do for now. Anyone know how I can get the Mouse Control Center working? I've restarted many times, uninstalling stuff and reinstalling but can't get the drivers to work.

OK, for those who still dare to install MouseWare 9 and get the "no-wheel-in-games" bug:

Just download the wheelfix from Logitechs FTP. Here the direct link:

ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/TechSupport/Mouse/Game_Whl.EXE

I had the same prob, fine install but no wheel in games ... this file fixed it.

I wouldn't know about it when Evil homer hadn't mentioned its existance, all I had to do was to find the file on their FTP server.

Has anyone else had this occur to them with mouseware9.0???

complete input loss from Keyboard AND Mouse. Everything else is running and is just waiting input. of the day and a half i've had these installed, this has happened THREE times already.. I'm left staring at my halflife game as people run around me, or at my webbrowser as the stupid ads keep flashing.

I end up forced to press the reset button to get back anysort of input.

I have same problem but this also happens before I installed mouseware 9.0 so I don't think it is mouseware 9.0 related. Anyway by enabling Delay Transaction in Bios does seems to help. I think this problem is related to PS2 sampling rate not doing right.

PS Watch out with that hardware reset button! if your Master File Table gets corrupted you will need to reformat / reinstall!

Thanks for the response.. I'll try setting my PSrate to 80 or back to 60.. it's at 100 at the moment. I still wonder as to the use of the logitech drivers. before i could get 100 Hz polling rate for my mouse using the windows drivers. the onlything lacking is the middle mousebutton /double click support.
