Can't Add/Remove Programs

I have 4 files(?) listed in the Add/Remove Programs window, all with the same name: Setup. exe custom database. I have been unable to find any of them on my hard drive or remove them from Add/Remove Programs.

Command prompt exiting

Is there any way to make command prompt in win2k/XP NOT exiting after executing manually a. bat or. exe file? Alternativelly is there any command that you can add to the batch or executable to prevent from exiting when run?.

In your opinion, do you think its better to have multiple partitions on a large drive or is the performance about the same with one big partition? System specs ABIT KR7A-RAID 40GB Maxtor D740X x2 RAID 0 Windows XP Professional

Making a boot disk

I apologise in advance if this tread is comewhere else in the forum but I could not find an answer. I have a neighbours IBM PII 350 that they got from work. It has win2k on it on a drive that is 3. 2GB but partitioned into 2 , 1.

2 bootable drives w/ 2k

Can I have 2 bootable drives (selectable) running 2k? I use a toggle switch (DPDT) with a cut down ATA connector to fit in the 6 pin space for the master/slave jumpers. (Works great in 98SE/ME, done it with 4 other computers!).

Can you add cascading folders to start menu ?

Is there a way to add cascading folders (submenus) to the new XP style start menu ? Preferrably to the top left area, pinned down What am I missing here ? It's so easy with the classice style, can't believe its impossible with the XP style ? H.

Windows Explorer - Default Settings

Hi everyone, Does anyone know how to make Windows Explorer (the file manager) open to a specific location without expanding the folder tree? By default it opens to My Documents and the tree is expanded.

Can't find FOUND.000

I see it as an option when I am selecting files for a backup, and I would like to delete these folders. I have turned off the option to hide files/folders. How else can I find them?.

read only attrib

Anyone else using XP that can't seem to get rid of the read-only attrib on files? I uncheck it, hit apply, and open up the properties again, and it's still there. Even the command line 'attrib -r-a-s-h *.

pagefile weirdness

This is pretty strange - I have a partition setup specifically for my pagefile, which is set to 1024mb. For some reason windows has also created another pagefile on my c: drive which doesnt show up when I go to set up pagefile usage in the system tab under control panel.
