event viewer pop up at startup

imisak
Can someone tell me how to turn off that message that event viewer keeps messaging at startup? every time I reboot it keeps telling me that at least one setvice or driver didn't load correctly. . I really don't want to see it because it works fine for me.

ATI tools recommended

mezron
I've been partial to nvidia stuff for several years now, but today my ti4200 bit the dust. I'm pretty sure that it was heat that did it in. This is the 3rd nvidia card I've had thats had heat problems (chintzy fans, etc).

DOS screen size while booting

rbduck
I run XP professional. I use an NEC MultiSync LCD1700m+ monitor. The native resolution of the monitor is 1280X1024. I have my desktop set to that and there is no problem. But, When booting, everything on the screen looks like it's running about 640X480 and covers a tiny spot on the screen.

Customising the NT4 boot screen and logon logo...

Curley_Boy
Two quick questions: 1. How do I change the boot screen background colour on NT4 (the one which shows the OS ver, Processor type and amount of RAM) from the painfully bright blue to black? Is a registry hack involved or would I have to use resource hacker? 2.

Assigning printers to groups

Akuma
What is the best way to assign a specific printer to a group of users or to a group of computers? I thought maybe the group policy editor would have an option, but I didn't see one. I have considered running a login script for those users (net use \\server\printer.

Change of product key under W2k

Llion
Sometimes I get the problem of having to install W2k without the proper CD nearby. Usually, if it is urgent, I use one of the existing product keys, but afterwards, when the right CD cover/label is around I would like to correct this.

This is my problem: there are 2 printservers, both running NT 4. 0 server, on wich I installed about 140 printers each, wich is about a days work for each server. Now it seems 1 of the servers wasn't configured correctly so it needs to be installed again, and also the printers.
