How to restore to an unlisted restore point

After applying new system updates to windows XP home edition back on 5/29/05, my system wouldn't reboot, no matter what I tried. I decided to try repair or reinstalling the original cd but nothing. I tried installing a pro edition and it got to a point where it said system is running a different OS, abort install.

change standard fonts on windows console

Kind of a silly question, but is there any way to get windowsXP to recognize different font options for the command prompt? When trying to choose another font on the font tab in the configuration only two show up.

Page not found... (host file blocking)

I have set my host file to block a huge amount of ads. Only problem now is when I visit sites like webshots and deviantart their advertisements come up as action canceled or page not found. When I try to click back, it tries to reload the advertisements rather than clicking back one page.

how do I delete recycle Bin

Somehow I have a added/copied a recyled bin to a secondary hard drive that I don't want it in but can't delete/remove it from the drive. The drive does not have windows 98 (my op sys) but valuable music info I need.

HOSTS File help....

I have setup my HOSTS file to redirect about 1000000000000 spam websites to 127. 0. 0. 1 which works great. However alot of sites I visit, like someones webshots in community. webshots. com, have adds that take a while to load, and then load as a page not found.

canon bjc-2100 printer problem

I have a Canon BJC-2100 printer and a new hp pavilion a 700n computer with windows xp on it. Every time I print a picture the color seems to match but you can see the dots that the printer is making leaving a real grainy picture.

Hey, we got an assignment for tomorrow at school; start a Windows XP machine as fast as possible, with a notepad document in the autostart. With almost no hardware changes, (overclocking is counted as sw), maybe add a little more memory.

Windows 2000 with an old computer

Hello ;( I'm running Windows 2000 on my Pentium 133 mhz with 128 MB RAM. I'm only using it for running couple of IRC bots 24/7 and sometimes surfing the web. I haven't found it being too slow, but if you have any tips to disable some useless stuff, please tell me.

An Annoying Popup Problem

Hello everybody, MY problem is this whenever I reboot my computer a UK(British) Lycos website pops up. it mainly pops up at reboot but sometimes pops whenever and if I'm playing a game it'll kick me out and minimize the game.

I had Norton Antivirus 2005 installed, but had to do a System recovery on my PC. I'm running Windows XP. After the system recovery, some of the programs I had installed didn't work properly and required a reinsatall.

Registry/regedit.exe exporting bug

I'm posting this here, rather than software, because the problem clearly requires a registry tweak. After I install Nero's CD Burner software, I can't export my entire registry. The HKEY_USERS will now only export.
