is it poss to download all win updates to CD?

my m8 has xp pro but is still on 56k connection so you can imagine what the download speed is not on that!! As i have broadband i would like to download the updates for him so he can keep his machine up to date without it clogging up the phone line forever?!! Is there a way? Thannks

I see benchmarks all the time for the new 64bit processors but I am curious to see how the benchmarks would be if someone tested the 64bit system on windows xp 64bit and then on 32bit. I just downloaded and burnt the slipstream version of XP pro w/ service pack 2 off of windowsbeta. microsoft. com I'm going to try it out tonight, but before I do, is it worth it or are there any major problems with it that sould make me not want to use it on my main computer?.

Sav corp 8.1 , no detect virus in zip

Did a forced push install from sav server onto win98 client. downloaded a test virus file in a zip. Not detected as zip until unzipped. Something I am missing?.

Hey all, I got a Dual Boot setup with XP and 2003 on different partitions, but whenever i try to logon with 2003 it does the following: 1)I type the password in 2) Starts to logon 3)Loads background (default blue) 4) plays widnows sound thats all it does.

I guess the first thing I need to know is where do I find a free compiler that has good features? And second, where do I go to get started learning? There are lots of sites, but what do you all use. I want a site that gets updated frequesntly, maybe one that has a good Delphi forum etc.

Win2K and large HDD

Hi, I'm trying to fit a 160Gb IDE HDD but BIOS sees it as 136Gb and Windows 2000 sees it as 128Gb. My motherboard is getting on a bit, a VIA chipset with PIII 600MHz CPU. I have the latest BIOS which is Advance 5-133E V1.

Have hiberfil.sys on another partiiton ? How?

My c: is t0o small to fit hiberfil. sys yet I want to be able to hibernate. Any tips how to make windows put hiberfil. sys somewhere else? 1280 MB ram over here. .

ok my next question with this is can i get php and mysql working with IIS? i have already been using phpdev on my laptop to test sites locally so it would be great if there was a way of installing this with IIS anyone know.

Hi Im watching a video in WMP 9 and i paused the video then hit alt+printscreen then went into paint and tried to paste it. It pasts fine but the video is black. It shows the player and everything but I cant get it to save and capure the video at that time when i pause it.

My winXP computer won't boot. . . the boot menu can't see windows. If I run the winXP install disk, setup says that C: is unpartitioned, it sees D: as FAT32 (correct) and it doesn't see E: at all. When I boot off of a win98 startup disk, I have access to all drives.

i need to burn some file thats 794 mb onto a cdr, but my burning program wont let me, it says that im 94 mb over the limit. even though my cdr says that it holds up to 800mb, so is there some program that would let me?.

I like what I see. I love that it comes pretty locked down without all the n00b crap Xp has. I also Like that it has a built in firewall. (I hate software fierewals, they are too much of hassle. I like XP/2k3 firewall, click protect me and in background it protects from inbound attacks and doesnt popup a thing ever ...

when i open links from a web page in ie they open in a new but TINY window can anyone tell me what to do. . . i am guessing it is a reg entry but i have had a quick look but no luck. . . . . thanks guys oh i have XP with ie 6.
