XP hangs up

ive reformatted several times, used different copies of XP, and changed processors, but my computer is still freezing up on me. it could be a matter of a few seconds, to several minutes, i can just turn on the computer, open a program, it doesnt matter, it freezes up no matter what i do.

IE Start Page - sp.html

Hi guys. I´ve been trying to change my Start Page (IE) but it always show me the same site (a search engine - sp. html). I known this is a spyware or adware, so I got the programs Spy & Robot, Reglite.

Welcome screen

If anyone can help me I would be much appreciated. When Windows XP is loading it hangs on the welcome screen it stays there for a couple of minutes, But if you press any key it goes straight to the desktop and loads correctly, I have run Trojan remover, and Ad-aware and there are non on my system.

upgrading nt4 pdc

I need to upgrade my current pdc (133mhz, 42mb, 1gb, etc. . ) I already have a better machine to replace the current which i installed as a bdc, but I have read there are lots of pitfalls of promoting a bdc to pdc and such.

Desperately need to delete a file

There's a DLL in my \windows\system32 directory (XP) called msephh. dll, and it contains the Backdoor-CFB virus. Very annoying. McAfee prompts me to delete or quarantine the file, but I get an Access Denied.

Invalid boot.ini file

I get this message when I boot: Invalid boot. ini file Booting from c:\winnt\ I looked under System Properties/Advanced/Startup & recovery and find the drop down box for operation systems blank! I looked at the boot.

Can't Login

While installin the sims, the installation quit and it gave me the blue screen of death. . . . and then the only thing I could was restart. So guess what I DID! RESTARTED!! and im on windows XP HOME.

Deletion of old user folder

I recently reinstalled WinXP over an older install and found that my old user directory under 'Documents and Settings' was till there after the rebuild. Problem is I can no longer open/explore/delete this directory and I want to get rid of it.

Which Archive program do you use?

Personally I like WinRAR because I download a lot more things that come in. RAR format than. zip format ( i do a lot of newsgroup downloading), I also like the way WinRAR works compared to WinZIP because Winzip you need external programs if you run into a non-recognized format.
