doom 3-totally frustrated mommy and a novice-please help

Having spent $110 bucks for 2 copies of doom 3, have 5 pc systems on home network. 1 copy worked fine on p3-1 gig-32 nividia geforce3's video(by the way- no cdr-cdrom- this figures in later-be patient, don't know if related).

hrm can someone help me with this. . a friend of mine recently had xp home edition installed then they upgraded to pro now when ever they go into log in screen and put in their pw to log in it says loadign their stuff and then the computer crashes on them and reboots.

xp pro(2600) restart during login

ok, so i had winme, den i installed winxp(non upgrade) and it worked fine, so i decided to get rid of it and upgrade winme to xp pro, installation went fine, except wen i get to the login screen and login it says loading your personal settings that lasts for a few seconds and then it just restarts, i tried safe mod ...

Windows 2000 sp4 hangs on restart

Just did a clean install of Win 2000 and it worked fine. Put in SP4 and now when you restart the server it hangs on bootup and just has a flashing cursor in the top left hand corner. A manual shut down boots into windows fine.

Missing Windows 2000 Recycle Bin

Can't find the Windows Recycle Bin anywhere. Loaded Norton's AV 2003 a while back, but kept the Windows Recycle Bin as the default vs. Norton's Protected Recycle Bin. . . . . . . . or at least I thought I had.

Need help on Win2000 logon

Hi guys, Recently I have a problem when logging on to win2000 with user account that just have power user rights. When logging on, the logon script runs and mapped the network drive, but the desktop icon and task bar failed to loaded.

Small Ping Program or Batch file needed.

What I need is pretty simple I think. I need a program or batch file that I can setup to ping our vpn three once every 6 hours or so. It would be ideal if the results could be in a log of some sort, but it's not required.

Windows 2000 Professional Login Problem with 2003 Server

I have a network of 20 Quad boot PCs and one 2k3 server that is AD/DNS/DHCP. My XP OS connects and logs into the domain fine but 2000 professional says it cannot find the domain when you try to login at the CTL-ALT-DELETE login screen.

Windows XP Default Cursor Color

Just wonder if there is a way to change the default cursor color under XP or not, mainly when using some forums, especially vBulletin ones, that allow you to change the styles/schemes and such. Some of them look great but the cursor basically disappears and I can't change the color.

upgrade to xp and machine doesnt turn off :(

i had win 98 on a machine and when i shut it down it turned puter off as well but now i have upgraded to xp i have to press the power button to turn if off?!!?!?!?! any ideas why !! thanks

Hi, I've been looking for an answer for this issue for months now to no avail. Maybe someone here can help. Windows 2000 server - Shared Data directory with share permissions wide open to all users (all sub directories locked down with NTFS permissions).

Hi, This is my 1st post (blah blah its a pleasure etc. etc!) Anyhow I have noticed that many people are concerned about XP SP2 and what it actually does. More by coincidence than design my machine appears to have DEP deactivated, along with the pesky MS firewall.

XP doesn't get to logon screen; it restarts everytime...

I have just installed service pack 1, and now XP won't start properly. After the WinXp logo and moving blue progress bar thingy, it goes black, and then restarts from the beginning instead of going to the logon screen.

Win2k freezes during normal startup

Recently one of my PC's at home is having trouble booting up. It has Win2k SP4 installed. What's happening is that the system just freezes when the Win2k bootup screen appears (the flowing blue graphics at the bottom stops flowing and the progress indicator is stuck at around 50%), with the Hard Disk indicator ligh ...

Password Protecting a Folder in Windows NT 4.0

I hope you folks can help. I have a Windows 2000 Professional PC (SP4) connecting to a Windows NT 4. 0 workgroup Server (no domain. ) I log in as Jody on my workstation (with admin rights), and my server has a Jody account with admin rights.
