I have recently re installed xp pro on my pc and unfortunatley i have re installed it instead of replaced it, I now have two lots of xp installed which obviously takes up space and also makes me choose which to use on start up, two versions of xp pro or xp pro safe.
New AMD 64 processor and DFI motherboard; can't install XP. HELP!!!

I purchased a new AMD 64 3400+ processor and a DFI Lanparty UT EF3 250 motherboard. I have problems installing Windows XP. I boot nuked the HD so I could start with a clean slate. I repartitioned the HD and installed XP only to have the screen freeze up at the Windows log on screen and then the blue screen of death.

Is it possible to run a web server from Xp and use it for your website. is it possible to use a registered domain name like humpty. com and run it from xp and store all my html files on my pc. Im currently using dreamweaver 5 MX any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Slow to open folders on my desktop

Hello, I have Windows XP home edition and as of this morning everytime I try to open up a folder on my desktop or Internet Explorer it takes like four minutes to open. Once the folder is open, everything is ok and I can move about pretty quickly.

I am new here, and hope someone can help me. My wife's computer has been having a scad of problems the past couple of weeks, such as: shutting itself down with no warning, etc. We are pretty sure she has been hacked, so we decided to do a reformat and install Windows XP Pro.
Win98SE dual boot with winXP Home

I tried to go dual boot on my dads computer and heres what happened. I formated the HD and made two partitions. 1 was a 100gb FAT32 for Win98SE, the other a 60gb NTFS for WinXP Home. I installed Win98SE to C before i installed XP.

My HDD crashed and I was able to slave it to copy over files. I got the whole drive copied over but the problem is that I use a program called radmin (kinda like pc anywhere) Each entry that I enter is stored in the registry.
Immediate Logout after Login into Windows XP

After (partial) removal of the W32. Funner worm from my XP-Home PC I can boot the PC (whether in secure mode or not is not important), but as soon as I login under any user account,which works ok, I am immediatly within half a second or so logged out again.

I am a new user of windows XP pro sp2. I just install it on a machine I built so everything is new. The problem is that all user but me can not open two Internet explorer windows at the same time. I am the administrator and one other person has an administrator account.

I've had the problem with Windows XP where the machine boots up, but stops before getting to the login screen. It just sticks on a screen displaying Microsoft Windows XP. I've tried starting in safe mode, but no luck.

Now I can't login to window xp home as usual! There's even no user name & Password appeared on the welcome window! I tried to use ctrl+alt+del to have the classic login window showed up, but my user name doesn't work anymore!(I have only one user name and without a password), and administrator is not working either ...

I was wondering if anyone here could help me. Last week I reset my windows xp home edition computer and it wouldn't start up. It said that the hard drive ruined or something like that. Well, we got a new harddrive and everything is working fine, but I can't access the files from the old one.

Just out of curiosity has anyone seen the bug in the attached screenshot? All of the folders on my desktop are incorrectly shown as named Desktop. Also note that My Computer, Recycle Bin etc are also shown as Desktop.

I just installed Win XP pro on my ThinkPad T30. It had been Win2K. I had Aironet Wireless Client and assume the Cisco Aironet 340 integrated wireless adapter. After the Win XP Pro installation I don't see any wireless network adapter in the hardware list.
