16 colors in win2k pro

I recently reloaded win2k pro on a refurbished hard drive. The display settings will not allow for more than 16 colors no matter what screen resolution I choose. I need more than 16 colors. How can I fix this? John.

Windows NT Boot problem

Hi. I have a computer running windows NT, and I made a image of the hard disk using Norton Ghost 2003. The original is a 15GB hard drive. Then I copied the image to a new 40GB hard drive. I insalled the hard drive, and ran the BIOS configuration to make sure thet the system has detected the new hd.

I'm having a wierd problem with my memory. I have 3 sticks, two 512s and one 1GB, all are PC3200. I have tried every combination of stick and slots, but no matter what I do, if all 2GB are in, the computer sees it as 1600.

BSOD running XP

Everytime I boot up I get the BSOD and this message STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005,0X82B72A2D,0XF8A0D150,0XF8A0CE50). I've used the Safe Mode to remove numerous viruses and Spyware, but that hasn't help.

One of the laptops at work, an Acer Travelmate 4020, started typing slashes all by itself today. The user stated that it would beep repedialty when she'd shut down and start back up again but I never got it to do that for me.

DirectX 9.0c versus DirectX 8.1

This past weekend, my son installed DirectX 9. 0c on his PC only to find that none of his old games would run anymore. Note that he was running DirectX 8. 1 before DirectX 9. 0c was installed. There is no way, to my limited knowledge, other than re-imaging his machine, to un-install DirectX 9.

Help with drive recovery!!!

HELP! I've just lost my primary slave drive (Western Digital 120GB) and I didn't have a backup for it yet. I've partitioned it but didn't format it back to NTFS yet. Is there a way to restore all the files on a hard drive after partitioning or formatting? Or reconstruct the files on another drive?.

whenever i shut down, the blue screen appears. i managed to write down some of the error codes but not all. is there a way to look at all the error codes while the system is running and deal with them one by one?.

XP Pro won't boot up

Everything was going great, until I rebooted my machine this morning, when I restarted it, it gets right past the Gateway Logo, then is going to run through the little timer bars on e the bottom of the screen before it loads up the XP Logo, get to the second bar and stops.
