Win98 reinstalling itself?????

Hey all, I have a win98 machine at home and it gave me some troubles a while back so i thought it was time for a good ol format and fresh install of the o/s. Everything went good and it was working great for a long time.

i have an extra pc im working on that was really slow 200 mhz k6 socket 7 64mb ram and i decided to put on a voodoo3 to speed up 3d games since that should be pretty much all i need for quake 2 and 3 however heres what happened, i installed the 1.

I am a old games freak. :x And love Win98se. Can i run Win98se ? I have: K7SEM Micro ATX mainboard with 1. 66 Athlon processor. And PCI 3D sound system (AC 97). And 1 GB PC 133 SDRAM. And 20 GB + 80 GB HD's.

Need help with modem

When trying to install an internal Creative Modem Blaster in my windows 98 computer it first told me I had missing MFC42. dll and could not install software for the modem. I downloaded the dll unto a floppy, installed it in windows system file.

I need to find an efficient way to grab files from several computers over the phone lines almost exactly backwards of a good o' bbs. any ideas all the boxes are win9x of some description, security isn't much of an issue.

TCP IP based printing in Win 9X - NT 4

There is a fantastic feature in Windows 2000 where u can set an IP on a jet direct box on a HP Printer and then print directly to it without the need to create a queue on Netware or NT Server, which we use here in the University to manager our printing needs.

I have a friend, running Win98, who apparently has a program running in the background that is preventing him from running Scan Disk. Since I migrated to 2KPro some time ago, I can't remember how to uncover all the system function and programs that might be running in the background of Win98 machines.

Screensaver - Reg Hack Question - Win95

Is it possible to set a screensaver to startup after say a 20 second idle? It will require a reg hack I believe. Or if not, is there a program out there that can do this? Gotta love HIPAA.

New graphics card game problems

I just got a new GeForce4 MX440-SE graphics card so I can play Dark Age of Camelot on line. The problem is that Whenever I try to run it the game pushes me back to Windows before it's even through loading.

Does Audigy2 have DOS drivers for use with older games ?

Or could the old Live! DOS driver work ? Could someone please take a look into this one ? I'm confronted with buying this Soundcard but have lots of old DOS games that need a native DOS environment (no WinXP/2K/Me/98/95 DOS box or compatibility mode.

Right. We've been having a problem here at work with with a group of Win95 machines. They all use IE 5. 5 to view intranet links to a SQL database (don't know what type) which are URL's delivered through Lotus Notes 4.

Fresh install of Windows ME on Socket-7/Via MVP3 combo in old AT box. Shutdowns were fine through all online Microsoft Update patches, installation of v4. 45 Via chipset drivers and 41. 09 nVidia graphics drivers.
