I'm trying to solve a problem on a friends computer, on some webpages (webshots) and some games (2) from cd's she gets symbols instead of words. Now this only happens in certain places on the games and so far in one spot in photo manager in webshots.

My system is NOT seeing my new DVD RW & player

I've just had a new DVD re-writer and player installed and now my windows ME system doesn't see these drives anymore. I also use the windows 2000 on the same 40gb hard drive fron a 10gb partition and when I switch to the 2000 system it sees all drives and they work ok.

I need help fixing my sisters computer. It seems she had a trojan virus, we have moved it to a vault but all her icons and web pages has shifted off the screen to the left and up. We can't seem to fix this problem.

i have two mechines that are running windows 98se. I have them networked together with a crossover cable and two ethernet cards the two coumputers do not see each other and most of the time do not see themselfs.

i tried to install a dvd burner into my PC, so i turned it off at the powerpoint, opened it up and took out the old cd burner and replaced it with the dvd burner. I bought the promo upgrade to ME from Win98 only. TONS of problems. Tried a clean install, still problems. More crashes than 98, more blue screens. When I found out that Win2k supported all my apps except for a few dos games, I jumped ship.

I need some help in getting my old laptop to function properly. I recently purchased a 40gig HD for my Hitachi Visionbook Plus Model #4350 with a P150mhz processer and 80mb RAM. (It originally came with win95 and a 2gig HD).

i'm trying to resurrect an older (400mhz, celeron, 128mb ram) win98 SE machine. it has 2 hard drives in there set on primary master and primary slave. the bios recognizes it and it seems to be in the device manager.

i posted the other day bout my windows 98 internet problem and i got this as a reply: I've seen this happen to W98 when 1) AOL messes up the TCP/IP connections, 2) an old version of Ad-aware removes a registry key disabling IE and 3) when a virus, trojan or BHO has attached itself.

Win98 won't recognize my printer

My computer won't recognize my printer. It tells me I have a file missing,'DMCOLOR. DLL'? It was installed previously on same computer. But after numerous trips to the computer tech's,end result, they re-installed Windows 98.

i've had this problem for a while already, there are certain sites that the internet explorer or the internet from my provider both won't let me open. . it just tells me HTTP 400 - Bad Request and i checked on the internet options of the IE to see if it had the restricted sites and there were none on there.

I really, really need some help. One day I left to my aunts house and my computer was working fine before i left, and when i came back i was about to burn a CD when I opened Nero and it said that I didnt have a CD Burner, then I checked in My Computer and it was not there.

I just recently bought a new computer (no name brand computer, but name brands devices) that includes a 128MB Nvidia GeForce FX 5200. I'm try installing the drivers that I downloaded from the Nvidia website like the computer prompted me to do, and then it needs to restart but freezes and doesn't recognize the Video ...

I have a computer that is running Windows 98. At times the mouse will go crazy and start clicking on things by itself. Sometimes the windows that pop up are internet pop ups other times they are from the control panel.
