win98 SE performance?

Ok Im installing Win98SE on my desktop, what are the best performance enhancements or tweaks I can use to get the most out of it Celeron 300a@464 on a Abit BH6 Rev 1. 01, 192 Pc100, Matrox G400 32 SH, SBlive Value, Supra Express 56i ISA, all running on Win2k pro with other odds and ends.
Problems with Win95B and HP Omnibook 2000CS laptop

Ok I installed win95B on the laptop and all went fine (installed it from cdrom, using win98 boot disk to start with cdrom support) now after all was install and desktop came up it started trying to install stuff for the pc card support and infared sensor in the back for wireless printing.
Would WinME Final run well on a Pentium 166 laptop with 80 m

I have been using Windows ME since is has been beta. After a while the whole system gives out and you have to reinstall. The system restore never works unless your computer is in perfect working order.

Ok I am currently running Win2k and love it, only problem is that I want to do some video editing with my PCTV pci and none of the video editing software that came with it works with win2k so I have decided to dual boot.

I need help. I just recently installed ME, everything went great, then all of a sudden the other day, when I connect to the internet via Dialup, it connects just fine, transmits data great, but it stops rcvng data at 310 bytes, and will not rcv any more.

Is it possible to use an OEM version of WinME as the qualifying software for an update to Win2000? I read somewhere in this forum that some type of patch is available, but I searched Microsoft. com and can't find it, and now I can't find the post here that mentioned it.

I just picked up a laptop for myself to use here at work so I could strictly put ICQ and run Winamp on it, and keep tabs on some personal websites of mine. 3 things you're not allowed to do with the office computers.

Win Me slows down

Every so often when im using winodws it slows right down. . and i cant do anything for a minute or so. . . Any idea's on the problem? Cheers, Adam.

I have an old system I threw together for my kids. I'm trying to get an old Diamond Monster II (voodoo 2) working properly under Me. The 3dfx 9x reference drivers seemed to cause problems and I never did manage to get them to work properly.

Ok guys I need help and fast. I got this laptop from a friend. It is a HP omnibook 2000cs, it comes with a pentium 166 mmx, 80 megs ram, 1. 93 gig HD, 16 bit sound, 56k megahertz 3com pc-card modem, 20x toshiba cd-rom, Chips and Technologies 65554 pci video.

Dear Win9x Users, I don't know if I can speak for most of the people in this Message Forum but I (EddiE314) am sorry for putting down 9x users, don't feel like a retard because you use Win9x/ME, maybe you just don't feel like paying $320 US for Win2k of just don't want to use it for whatever reason you may have.

Another ME Annoyance

MS own Intellimouse Explorer does not work properly with ME. THe back function (thumb button) in IE jumps back like 5 pages instead of 1 at a time, this is damn annoying, are there fixes/drivers that fix this?.

Is it possible in Win ME to sort by date in explorer? I know it can be done by oldest first but I need to be able to do it the other way, most recent first and I cant find this option. Anyone help?.
