Any Reason To use WinME?

I have talked to some people who said after some tweaking they were able to get Winme stablier than win98SE and faster as well. Can this be done? Celeron 300a@464 on a Abit BH6 Rev 1. 01, 192 Pc100, Matrox G400 32 SH, SBlive Value, Supra Express 56i ISA, all running on Win2k pro with other odds and ends.

Nvidia GForce 2 Video Card

I have an issue I can not figure out. Just bought a brand new PC w/ the Nvidia Geforce 2 MX AGP video card, when the PC first boots up and is going through it's Post sequence it returns a series of 3 beeps, then the screen stays black, the PC finishes booting, but no picture.

Windows Me on a Sony Vai PCG-C1X laptop.

Hi. . has anyone managed to install Windows Me on a C1 ? I keep getting an error when installing at 10%. I checked Microsofts knowledge base and found an article explaining that the error was down to a corrupt CAB file, but I've tried this, and still the installation fails.

Hi, I recently installed WinME on my 3 home computers, and I am having trouble with the file search part of it, but only on one computer, it doesn't work for some reason, I can type in the name of a file, but when I click the search button, nothing happens, computer search works fine though.

Creative actually released something within a good time period, ME has been out for how long (on the market no RTM'd) like a month if less and they already have LW for it. Maybe creative is getting better but i wouldnt bank on it.

I am having a problem with the FINAL version of Windows Me. Not retail, Final. I boot up, it loads the explorer, and it loads the status bar, and stops. I am using Windows 2000 now, and i want a way to fix it.

I have a P2B-F motherboard and i have a shut down/restart problem. I have flashed bios to newest editions, upgraded all drivers, eliminated background programs and the computer refuses to shut down and restart.

Can't partition over 64GB with WinME

I'm using a promise fastrack100 raid controller under winME. . I have 2 hard drives connected totalling 98GB using the spanning option. . the largest partition I've been able to make is 64GB. . I've tried partition magic, fdisk, format.

Why even buy Wiindows ME? Just make sure you have a decent cpu and 256 megs of ram a run W2K. Just my opinion and like every other post I have made I'm sure people will blast me. But you know I'm right.

AudioPCI....or RealPlayer?

I recently changed the sound card, from a SB32 PnP to a AudioPCI 128 (must be read Ensoniq 1371. . . . ) and I installed WinME. I always get a random blue screen, mostly when I watch or listen to media files.
