Occasional screen corruption

Does anyone lese get this? Usually it happens when the screensaver should have started but doesn't. The screen darkens and looks like a shadowy distorted version of itself. A simple start/shutdown/cancel refreshes the screen back to normal but it is irritating.

Where is QuikVeiw for Win98?

I have been searching high and low for freakin quikview. exe for Win98. I realise W2K & winME no longer come with QuikView, Why??? I Ask??? I am looking to use Quikview for Win98, in Powerdesk4 on W2K.

WinMe only half shuts down?

Here's the problem: I replaced a nic and since winme refused to completely shut down. All of the leds go off but the fans keep running. Any ideas what might be the problem? Thanks.

IE 5.5 is old version bundled in WinME?

Version bundled with ME is 5. 50. 4134. 0100 the one I downloaded from MS's site is 5. 50. 4522. 1800 In any case IE works better now and is its response is much more snappy. System appears more stable too.

How do you get menu fading in ME?

In the Millenium beta's there was alpha blending, menu fading, the cursor was like 2000's etc. When they released it proper there was none of the stuff that makes W2K look good. Some how I don't believe it got left out, more likely disabled.

WinME driver info database problem

In WinME on my dad's system, it works great except when you try to add new hardware. When the Please wait. . . up the driver information database window pops up it takes like 30 minutes for the blue bar to finish.

Network Icon is system tray in ME?

Is it possible to see a Network activity icon in the system tray for a cable modem connection inside WinME? Kind of like it is in Win2k or when you use a dial up ISP. .

I've got a disappointing problem. I bought a Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP steering wheel. I have a dual-boot system w/ Win2k Pro and Win98. The wheel works just fine on my 2k OS, but I can't get it to install on the Wintendo OS.

Windows installer...Log error HELP>>>

Ok all I did was Reinstall windows me fresh. Nothing else changed. So when I stick a CD in and try to run the file (Setup or install) I get Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable I have NEVER got this.

ok i just bought a USR 56k modem from a local computer retailer, when i install it, it was detected find and asked for the drivers. OK so far so good, but when i popped in the disk that came with it, it did not find any drivers.

I got it to work, even with com5. I changed the port address for com1 and com2 to AUTO in my Abit motherboard Bios. Restarted, and reinstalled drive, and that was it. It still say COM5 but it now responds when i click more info.
