I can't boot from promise ultra100 tx2 controller. WHY??

I got my shiny new Asus A7M 266-D motherboard with dual AMD 2600+ CPU. I see no options to bot from my promise controller. there is no Boot other device option. In the other all there is is network (int18h) or SCSI.

Radeon 9700 PRO Infinite Loop

Hi to all! I have the Hercules ATI RADEON 9700 PRO and I am using ATI's CATALYST 3. 1 along with XP - DX9. When I try to run ATI's demos (8500,9000,9700), DX9 tests & 3DMark03, the system hangs and I need to restart or it returns to a corrupted desktop.

I recently installed windows 2000 on my new 40 Gig HDD. It's spec's are as follows Intel P3 450MHz 256 MB RAM compaq ps/2 mouse generic keyboard i440bx Intel Motherboard 40 Gig WD HDD 52x24x52 CD/RW 48x CD-ROM Anyway, everytime I restart my computer, both my mouse and keyboard do not work.

im using an ms office keyboard with winxp anyways. . the problem is that when i press alt. . it opens up ms excel. . if i hold it down/press more than once it opens multiple copies. . if i press the paste key over on the side it opens ms outlook.

Hey all well my uncle is doing a switch from Intel - which he has used since his 386! over to AMD and is going ro grab an AMD 3000+ This is the mobo he wants - anyone have any feedback? He will be getting an ATI video card - 8x AGP for sure.

hi, im going to buy a ga-7va1394 motherboard from gigabyte. im asuming the firewire on this board is 1394a right? also ive heard you cant stick an athlonxp2800+in this motherboard, although the gigabyte website says you can.

That is ridiculous, making a game specifically to a certain type of hardware limits the market for your product. What are they thinking, they will be isolating half of the gaming market. .

Duel monitor (monitor and TV)

I have a few questions about duel monitor output. Here is what I want. I want my monitor to be my primary desktop. I want my tv to be my secondary desktop. I can do this fine but when I try to watch any video or movie on the tv the window just shows up black w/o the video feed.

I figured, since the newest Detonator drivers worked fine on win2k and XP, that would probably work fine on. net server 2003 too. . . but no If i look into the device manager, the driver has been updated, but i cannot adjust anything via Screen Properties.

Yamaha CD Burner Problem

I am new to this forum. Great info. I have a Yamaha CD-RW 8424E using Windows XP. Until recently it always worked. Then all of a sudden using Nero 5 with Imation disks the drive stopped recognizing blank media and always ask me to insert a blank disk.

Uhhh, how is my dial-up connecting at 115.2K?!

After plugging in my new USR External 5686 modem, I didn't see the Found New Hardware wizard as I booted into Win2K. Checking Device Manager, it showed up as a Standard Modem. Is this normal? I didn't use the USR CDROM that came with it since I saw no Win2K drivers on it anyway.

hey, I have'nt changed my nvidia drivers in awhile, i read somewhere yesterday that the newest nvidia drivers don't have the 60hz resolution problem anymore. Is this true? no need to use NVrefreshtool anymore?? Thanks.

When i try to install the latest drivers for my intellimouse, it complaints about my. net server not being the correct version of windows. This is bound to happen when using such a new OS, but is there any way around this? Cuz i really like the features the intellimouse drivers gives me.

Recently I added a 512MB DDR to my system and discarded the 256 and 64MB PC133 sticks. A week after this I starting getting system freezes, random reboots and blue screens. Today I opened my computer and the PSU had these numbers on the label.
