Wireless card w/ HP Pavilion 4420 Laptop

Greetings. I just purchased an HP Pavilion 4420 laptop today. I also bought a generic Wireless 802. 11b PC card for it. When I got home I fired it up, went through the process of getting everything setup, and ran into some issues with the wireless connection.

I thought this would be a simple one, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm just looking for a cable or small device that converts the VGA out on my video card to composite or S-Video in on my TV.

Hi, When I start up my machine Scandisc is running on. Of course I always turn off my computer using Shut Down. My configuration: XP pro, NTFS Asus P4P800 Deluxe 1009 AmiBios, P4 2. 4 HT on WDC 60 8MB cache (partitioned 10 - system/50 ) WDC 80 8MB cache Disks are working on IDE3 & IDE4 ATA 100.

i hope it works on 2000 pro. I was rather annoyed to discover that Win2k pro and xp cant mirror. I still recommend a ghost, in case the OS installation goes, not a hardware failure. .

"Safely Remove Hardware" Icon Sometimes Disappears

I have a couple of pieces of hardware that activate this icon. The removable media drive in my Epson Photo 925 printer, and my Apple (Win) iPod (when plugged in). However, occasionally, this icon disappears and even by plugging in the iPod won't bring it back.

Need help with Rio 500 MP3 player

Ok I have the firware upgraded to 2. 16 latest. Got the latest Rioport software and its running and detecting fine. I transferred like 11 songs to he player and when I check the payer it shows all songs are there but when I go to play them sometimes it will skip 1 song or 3 songs in a row and then play the next one.

hi, i have a presario 920ea,and installed W2k because i dont like Windows XP. . i dowloaded all drivers for my presario from compaq website. . and all installed and works correctly except video drivers cards.

Hi, just today my dial-up connection was working fun but later in the day it wouldn't work. In the morning it worked fun, then I tried it in the afternoon, the connection is established but it won't go anywhere.

Move Windows XP to new hardware?

Is is possible to move an existing XP installation to a new PC? I have heard it is possible to do this by installing a fresh copy of XP on the new machine and then using the ntbackup program to restore the 'old' xp installation onto the new PC.

My problem is my (crappy) VS17X Dell Monitor. Last night, I first noticed the problem. I left my computer for 20 minutes and came back and it was as if the monitor had gone into power saving mode, which I have turned off.

Time for another impossible question! I currently have a Geforce FX card with 128 Mb. . . the low model with a fan. . . I noticed that while games use beautiful pixel shaders to produce water waves and such, the surface of the water isn't updated.

Anyone else have this or a similar problem? I have an Epox 8RDA+ and no matter what I do, I can't get both DMA and full read/write speeds from the Plextor drive. The drive itself is fine, as it works/worked in an older motherboard (Abit KT7a).

Here is my situation. I have two harddrives right now on my computer. Both Fat32. C: has win98 SE installed and d: has Win2k installed. I am going to purchase a new harddrive on Friday. 40 Gig. I have a BE6 board so I am going to put the 40 gig drive on the HPT 366 controller to used UDMA-66.

Do all Radeon 9_00 cards connect to a PS's power supply?

I'm looking to upgrade my video card, if possible frugally at <$150 USD. While my research has had me looking at the 9000 series Radeon cards, I stumbled across that the 9500 must connect directly to my PC's power supply, and that the power supply must be at least 300W.

Mouse is acting strange

This is really weird. Most of the time im on the computer after a while my mouse (Intellimouse Explorer 3. 0) just shuts off on me! Then 3-4 seconds later it comes back on, sometimes it wont even come back.

I have a Hansol 710P monitor and a ASUS v7100 Pro Videocard, everything works fine On my old computer I tried to change the videocard to a GeForce 4, Windows 2000 starts up and the drivers are found.
