What Printer?

Some advice needed please. I need to get a good injet printer for a small office of 10 computers that need to share the printer. They wont be doing much colour printing, only colour documents not photo printing.

USB modem disconnection problem

I am using a Hayes Accura ISDN terminal adapter connected to my laptop via a USB port. When I want to disconnect the modem, because I am using XP pro, I cannot simply unplug the modem from the USB port without getting the famous blue-screen-of-death (BSOD) and having to reset the pc.

When I have a modem (ISDN terminal adapter) plugged into a USB port on my laptop, there is an abnormal amount of cooling-fan activity (about 75% of the time), even if the modem is not in use. Could this be because the modem is taking its power from the pc (even though the power consumption is very small)? I don't m ...

more cpu temp advice

i'm running an xp 1800+ at the stock speeds and i'm getting temps of 50 - 53C, is that normal? i read some were that the temp should be no more than 39C and that if i was runnin at 50C that it was too high.

my gfs pc is an old HP pavillion. . and I put an 8mb PCI card on it to replace the 4 mb integrated vid card. . it works. . or so it seems. . problem is up the drivers. . I finally found a coopy of the drivers.

I was told and I saw on the home page that I could download VistaScan 3. 76 from the web site, yet I can not find where to do it. I have a Umax 6400 scanner and I have just upgraded to XP P and I need VistaScan 3.

We had a 36 gig HD that was divided into a 1G and a 35G. 1G is used for the current NT server applications. Attempted to install Quickbooks Basic 2003 on 35G. Program attempted install of IE 6. 0 on 1G but found insufficient space.

What are the power-on beep codes?

I've suddenly hit a problem of my Win2K machine refusing to boot up when powered on. I just get a l-o-n-g beep, and sometimes a short one at the end of that long one. For a properly-working machine, it should be just one short beep.

I just bought this mobo along with a Intel 2. 4c HT cpu with 2x512MB PC3200 ram. Now I bought it all at the same time and the place that i bought it from but the cpu and ram in and tested it to make sure it all worked.

I've got a notebook here that contains an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600. The release notes speak of compatibility to Radeon 9600 familiy. In the Past ATIs reference drivers didn't officially support mobile GPUs Does someone out there have any experinece in this Thanks Frank.

I have just got a new athlon xp2600 with a coolmaster fan suitable of more than XP3000 yet my cpu is overheating !! i have to run it at xp2000 just to boot. Can anyone recommend and have experience of a better cpu fan please? not too expensive!! Thanks RF.

floppy disk problem

recently i have problems with my floppy disc drive ,since it sems that the floppy disc drive reading something(the l. e. d indicator switched on and make a noisy sound of rotating device) eventhough i dont even ask them to read anything(no floppy disc in the drive).

I will be setting up a server for a client and need to know if NT4 server is comapatable with xeon processors. Somebody had mentioned that as NT doen not support hyper threading and xeons do - they may not work.

Hello Recently my Soundblaster Live 5. 1 card suddenly stopped playing mp3's or any sound at all. I have Windows XP, Viav KT400 Motherboard, Athlon XP2200, Geforce 4 Ti4200, Soundblaster Live 5. 1 When I try to go to creative's mixer or speaker settings I only get mixer not found.
