I have a Sapphire ATI 9100 (8500LE) card that I will be replacing with a PowerColor ATI 9600Pro. Do I have to do the whole nine yards of a uninstall and reinstall when I switch these cards using the same driver package? Running 2k w/sp4.

Moving PCI card causes reinstall of drivers

videobruce
I know that is the way it is, but why? When you move a card to another slot, Windows has a memory problem and forgets that the card was even there and has to reinstall the driver all over again. Worse yet, I have a 3Com NIC that when the O/S was loaded with the card in place the card was reconiged and the driver wa ...

What is the best modem for fax only?

Lotus
We have a small fax server here at our business, and currently use a US Robotics v. 92 modem. Is this the best quality modem we can use? We have had a couple people say they can't fax to us. The problem might just be on there end, but who knows.

Dead Spanned Volume

lordbelial
I have a 1Tb spanned volume (5x 200gb) on a Windows 2003 server. Recently, one of the drives died. I still have access to the spanned volume but it is painfully slow and frequently freezes. If I take out the dead drive, Windows will not mount the volume.

USB Flash Drive for data storage - good or bad idea?

SnapperOne
At the moment, we currently back-up all of our accounting data on a rotating cycle of 250Mg ZipDisks. While we have not experienced any catastrophic problems, we are nonetheless considering instituting other back-up media so we're not so vulnerable to the whims or problems of Zip technology.

Power supply internal plug question

ConQueso
Know of that 5 or 6 wire wide plug coming out of many power supplies that isn't used often? I was wondering where I could get a PS that has 2 of those that would work with an incredibly old school motherboard that has only two of these for a power attachment to the PS.

Mixing memory didn't drop benchmark much

videobruce
On a 100MHz memory bus (AMD 751 chipset) mixing one PC133 and two PC66 (?) strips only dropped the benchmark 5% running SiSoft Sandra 2004. I'm not sure about these other 2 strips (32MB each) of memory.
