Hello there. I have a samsung CD rom and a sony CD writer. They work well when either of them is connected to the system. But when both of them are connected together, only CD ROM works. Please tell me how should I make them work together.

I have a Dell Dimension XPS Gen 2 desktop that I bought last year. I think I'm screwed but I need more power. Dell customizes their systems so much that I need to get a new case with a power supply. Before I buy anything, I need some input on the problems I'm gona run into here.

window reduced to 25% on xp pro

suddenly i cant post msgs in yahoo groups coz when i do they dont show and mainly my whole window is down to 25% with the desktop showing behind it??? its not the minus or max as thats ok but i cant read my full pages now as its kinda dissapeared???? HELP a lady in distress x

9800 pro crashing problem

Alright, I have been trying to fix this problem for MONTHS to no avail. I have: Athlon XP 3000+ 1gb Corsair DDR 400 ASRock K8S8X mobo 9800 Pro 128mb (VisionTek XTasy) After my computer has been off for serveral hours and it completely cooled down, I go to start it up, I starts loading windows.

Windows NT USB with Deskjet 3745 Printer

Can anyone help me to figure out how to get Windows NT 4. 0 SP6a to recognize a USB printer. I am using USBtray 2. 0 from insideOut networks and it finds our USB key drives easily and associates a new drive letter to access them.

nvidia MCP-D chipset (NForce)

Question, We have an machine that uses the newer nvidia MCP-D (NForce) chipset. The drivers from Nvidia only support W2000 and XP. I have tried to install these drivers on NT4 but I get an install error stating the OS is incorrect.

Athlon XP 1800 - unstable

I recently upgraded my system by installing an Athlon XP 1800 Ever since I put it in my system has become unstable. I am experiencing random lockups and Office applications (Word mainly - refuses to work at all) I did a fresh install of Windows XP pro after putting the chip in.

NTLDR is missing

well my sisters computer was the main one used in the house, becuase it was the only one connected to the net. . . . but one day after shed used it the night before whilst i was working i came to start it up, but i got the NTLDR file is missing error message.

Problems installing nt4.0 on a serial ata drive

Trying to install NT4. 0 on a Dell PC (160GB serial ATA Drive). Have successfully installed W2k & XP Pro. When running NT4 setup, it does not see the hard disk. Have hit f6 key during install which allows setup to continue but when PC restarts setup fails.

New memory for laptop

Hi, I just bought some PC2700 SODIMM ram for my dell laptop. I made sure it was the right type and everything but when I try to boot it up, the little lock thingy with an A on it just blinks, then it shuts off.

problems with Nvidia GeForce MX4000

hi guys! I have a P4 1. 8 mhz processor with mercury Via chipset motherboard with an agp 2 slot Earlier I was using a nvidia 64 mb 8x agp card (mora)and the comp was working perfectly. I am trying to upgrade to an Nvidia GeForce MX4000 XFX make but the computer does not work.

Old IDE, New SATA Motherboard

Hello, I wonder if someone could help me out here. (Forgive my computer unsavviness). I have a new Intel P4 with a motherboard with two SATA connections and a primary 160gb hard drive. I want to install my old 60gb IDE into one of the SATA connections as an extra drive and I thus bought an adapter on eBay.

I'm putting together my first puter, the old dell 550 has been a warrior but it is time to upgrade. I'm using a Soltek motherboard (VIA K8T900/SL-K8AV2-RL) with an AMD 64 3000+ CPU. 1 GIG o RAM, 80 gig SATA Maxtor hd (YY080MO), and a Radeon Pro 9600 Pro.

I have built a few PC'S, but am new to SATA. My question is this. If I install (2) new 120 gig SATA DRIVES configured for Level 0 (performance), CAN I BOOT FROM THE DISKS, or do I have to boot from another hard disk besides my SATA disks?.
