Connecting Sidewinder Pro to laptop

Hi, I have just unpacked my joy stick after a couple of years. I used to use it with a Dell desktop running Windows 98. My laptop runs XP. I bought an adapter so that I could plug the joystick into one of the laptop's USB ports.

Video Card - BIOS conflict

The system boots fine up till completion of the IDE discovery step. Then the board's speaker beeps continuously. The system will continue to boot fine into WinXP, just continuing to Beep. The only Beep Error Info on an Award BIOS is for Video Card error.

dvd-rom compatibility

hi im new to the board and i need some help. i have a compaq evo n400c laptop and was wondering if anyone can tell me if an external dvd-rom drive by 'AOPEN' would have any compatibility problems? if its needed to know i am running windows xp.

my video card worked before but all of a suuden wen i turned it off and used it again it said the ati control panel failed to intalise because no ati driver is installed, or ati driver is not working properly.

Won't see new 2nd drive

I have a Dell 4600 with a sata hard drive (Maxtor 6Y160M0)I am trying to install a 2nd Segate drive (3200822A) which is just an ata drive. The computer is not seeing the new drive, I have even installed a different drive which I have data on and it will not see that either, it is also ata.

I currently have an Albatron PX865PE PRO II, it is a great 865pe based board with alot of features some of which I use some I don't. I left on vacation, came back and the computer was off, turned it back on to get many random memory errors.

Zoo Tycoon 2 - Help!

;( HELP! I cannot get Zoo Tycoon 2 to run properly. After playing for about 3 minutes, the game locks up and a warm boot is impossible. I have to unplug the computer, always. Could there be something wrong with my video card or do I need an upgraded version.

Speed Problem on Sony Vaio FS550 Laptop

I just bought a sony vaio fs550 laptop which uses the intel centrino processor my problem is that it always reports that it is running at 798mhz when it is supposed to run at 1. 6 Ghz There was a reg hack for the P3's that had speedstep to that would allow you to lock the processor to the max speed all the time.

OK, I have a sony vaio that is about a year old, P4 2. 8, 800mhx fsb, DDR333 support etc etc. When I boot up and read the POST stuff, it says that 1GB of PC2100(266mhz) is detected. So, if the memory is all pc2700 why isnt the BIOS recognizing it as such? It carrys over into windows as well, programs like belarc ad ...

I just moved and when I set up my win2k machine in my new apartment I cannot get any usb devices other than my mouse to work. The mouse is fine but when I plug anything else in (printer, scanner) the unplug or eject hardware icon comes up showing usb device to be not working properly.

I've done some research, visited most websites, and what I've read is that I cannot play my dvd movies with my current DVD-ROM drive unless I buy a decoder card. But my question is, is this a fact? Must I get a decoder card, because I have no pci slots free.

i am trying to sync my ipod to my computer. . when i do that, this blue screen comes up with irql_not_less_or_equa; and it dumps my memory. . i just got this ipod today and idk why it isn't working with my computer.

Hey all! I just bought a stick of PQI DDR-333 (PC2700) 1GB, and I am replacing Samsung DDR-333 256MBx2. I used the wrist strap when I installed it and everything, and when I turn my PC on, nothing comes up on screen.
