Win XP SP2 - no sound card detected

On this computer I have a sound card which is built into the motherboard. When I had win XP home edition the sound card worked, When I had win XP Pro edition the sound card worked, But now I have win XP pro SP2 edition and windows says I have no sound card.

Max Payne Problems

Hi, new to the forum; still have a lot to learn. Anyway, I recently purchased Max Payne (yeah, kinda retro by now ) and for some reason, after starting it up, it closes after the intro movie and getting half way through the loading bar.

u know my geforce mx is pretty good it has 64mb 253mhz 256 bit and it can play all kind of game like needforspeed2, sims2 and alll other 3d games and that wied for a 64mb

Promise Controller Problem?

I got a problem with my server. It rebooted for some reason an I found it stuck at the Fastbuild utility for the on-board raid. It said that one o fthe disks is unplugged or failed. I checked the connections, rebooted up to windows (on the other disk) and windows proceeded to install the other HD as a new HD.

I am just wondering if this motherboard is a decent one. I have never dealt with the brand that it is, but it is PCI-Express and comes with an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ for 250 bucks, so its a very good deal.

Stock temps on X1800XL and other heat issues

I recently purchased an AIW X1800XL (great card, by the way) and I am using it in my HTPC (ensure you have a large case for this card - it goes all the way to the opposite edge of the motherboard). I replaced the stock cooler with a Zalman VF700-Cu LED VGA cooler and Zalman RAMsinks.

Hi! Has anyone experienced problems with Matrox Millenium II PCI on Windows XP? I cannot force Direct 3D to work. When I was using Windows 98 or Me, I could smoothly run games with Direct 3D, but now I can't.
